North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has chosen economic development as his country's urgent task amid speculation that North Korea could launch a rocket, according to state media. Of the news agency Yonhap on March 11, 2019.

In a letter to a national conference of propaganda officials held in Pyongyang earlier this week, President Kim stressed the need to focus on all efforts to build a socialist economy.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Kim called on Party officials to push for efforts to address ideological education for the people, ensuring that "great progress will be made in building socialist economics" .

It was Kim's first message, which was announced after he returned home after a summit of the summit last week with US President Donald Trump in Hanoi.
